Behind The Ink

Sweater - Forever 21| Dress - H&M

Artwork by: Audrey Kawasaki | Tattoos by: Karrie Lynne Whitfield at Devotion Ink

My little snippet in the article in April's issue of "Howl In Lowell Magazine"
"Swallow tattoos have always been popular, but they started with sailors traveling far from home. Swallows are known for returning home to the same location every year to nest. My first swallow represents the time I lived in California  and the second represents home to my friends and family in  Lowell. For me, those will always be about travel, returning home, and the sense of loyalty to the people who you love and always come back to. The artwork on my arm is inspired by Audrey Kawasaki painting called "The First Time." Her work is simple but captivating, and it really speaks to me. I get a lot of positive responses to my tattoo but my older family members, being very traditional, had a hard time understanding why I did it. But they are just for me and I enjoy them. Every time I look at them, I think, this is who I am and it keeps me grounded."

Warm Winter

Coat - ChicWish | Hat - Brixton

This winter has been immensely cold, and it's hard to find a cute coat for everyday wear. I've been addicted this coat this winter, keeping me nice and toasty for even the coldest days. Faux fur on the cuffs and hood added a feminine touch to everyone's favorite parka.

Muck & Mire

Chiffon Top: H&M | Double pointed Skort: Zara | Shoes: Zara | Rings: Ebay | Necklace: BCBG Sweater: Forever 21 | Nail Color: Honk if you love 0PI

It's a given to want to layer on black when you still have dirty snow lining the streets. I always love wonderfully high collared button up top; bibbing the collar with neon, there is no better way to dress up an outfit than with eye-catching accessory. Wearing all black eerrthing, why not go a little loud? Statement necklaces are one of favorite pieces to add dimension to any outfit. Paired with a double pointed skort you get the best of both worlds, shorts & skirt.

Over It All

Hat - Brixton | Top - H&M | Overalls - Forever 21 | Coat - ChicWish | Shoes - Jeffery Campbell Litas

New England winter isn't passing by anytime soon; why not make the best of it by wearing what you want? 90's come back are a personal favorite; lose and relaxed short overalls (completely comfy) worn over a cropped stripped shirt, a semi-structured  faux leather sleeve coat for my imaginary board shoulders, and to note I am utterly in love with a good wide-brim hat.
